Semester Reflective

1. The quality of my work has dramatically improved mainly because of my medium, instead of pencil and paper I can now use the advanced workings of photoshop to create even better works than before. Each concept given to me is a challenge and also a way to interact with or develop my work and thus create better art. I find that my punctuality is a great quality to have as each assignment comes with a due date and must be kept in order to not fall behind. Being able to add my interpretations of a concept to essentially make it my own and create the difference between my art and everyone else's is truly one of the best opportunities I can have.

2. Creating a work in photoshop takes an immense amount of focus, time, dedication, and effort. Photoshop is a more complex program that requires effort in order to use it because of its many systems and possible ways to change an image. Personally, I take some time, but not too much, to brainstorm an idea after being given a task and use my efforts to create my picture until I believe my project is complete. This could take a day or a week. Sometimes an idea can be imagined only for the draft to change after finding that I cannot find a viable way to create what I had imagined; and this is okay because I take this as a sign that I still need to improve and must wait until I can accomplish every edit possible. When looking at a peers work I often feel envy, wishing I could create as well as another, but never contempt.

3. I believe punctuality and self managing are some of my best qualities. Budgeting my time is an important part of this class and must be used wisely in order to stay on track. This often includes working throughout my class time and working until a due date. Luckily I find this is rarely a situation I find myself in since a concept should be able to completed in the time frame given.

4. Personally I believe I have improved 100%, since I had never opened a Photoshop application prior to entering this class. I have learned more than I thought possible, and enough to govern myself, in the semester time frame. Now that I can comprehend the program better than before, I find I can make my works more in depth and add effects that I wouldn't have considered beforehand.

5. I would like to make my work more presentable, works that I wont be embarrassed of or feel defensive of. I would like to recommend is a riddle based project. One where a student may choose a riddle and then express the answer in a work.
