The Power of Internet Images
- 1. Thill Seeking
- 2. Traveled
- 3. Aesthetic
- 4. Affectionate
- 5. Curious
- Based solely on these photographs, I certainly believe Jenny is trying to portray herself as adventurous, athletic, in a relationship, and well traveled.
- I do believe Jenny was successful in giving these impressions mainly from the combination of her photographs and her personal biography. Saying herself that she is a "Traveler, explorer, and writer" and also likes to spend time outside in the sun. Her three pictures give off the vibe that she looks for adventure but also appreciates scenery.
- Every persons' role model is very relative. She may be an amazing example to look up to if that person has common interests and passions; but not so much if another person is a homebody and likes security. Parenting methods are also relative- Jenny could be a wonderful guardian, depending on how devoted she is to the task. Jenny could be a quiet neighbor, or a loud one, depending on whether she was friendly with them or not. Jenny might be an amazing friend, or an absent one depending on how deep the relationship runs.
- Social Media is purely perception. Pictures and photos can always be edited and changed to depict what the maker wants us to see. This activity was most likely designed to show media users that what we view on the internet can not always be trusted or taken for granted. There are many people behind screens, all with different motives; and as an innocent users we need to always be aware of these possibilities. Things are not always as they seem.
